103. Breakup Blues
Dear readers. As the title suggests, it’s time to break up for some of the story’s characters. Especially for Tusnelda and Martin, this is a topic that arouses a lot of conflicting feelings. Is it or is it not a sensible decision? How do you come to terms with what does not immediately seem to make sense. The chapter changes topic a few times as it progresses. There are some very different personalities who are each facing a breakup. We will follow them all through a long day.
*****
Early morning in Brindleton Bay

Tusnelda doesn’t sleep long after Martin goes to bed. It’s almost night when she sits up abruptly.
Martin is in her first thought.

To her relief, he is lying in bed, sleeping.

He seemed composed as always last night, but she knows him well enough to know he was devastated…. Though, it shouldn’t be that big deal …All she wants is some undisturbed time to get her head in order, right?
Maybe she herself is to blame for escalating the drama, since the subject was so difficult for her to bring up?

It’s not because she wants a divorce, she just wants a break. Time to sort her own thoughts without being disturbed by his presence. It shouldn’t be too much to wish for.
Seeing his worried and sad face made her feel so bad about herself. It makes her want to push him away from her, hard! …Just to be able to breathe without a constricting band.

Why is she like this? Why can’t she just be simple and straightforward? Why is everything inside her a mess? Why is she such a lousy person?
*****

Tusnelda sits down and looks searchingly at the computer keyboard. She looks up at the blank document on screen and presses a few keys. She has long wanted to start her scientific thesis.
She made a groundbreaking discovery by chance the last time she visited Sixam. She accidentally forgot to put on her airtight helmet, and so she discovered that photosynthesis on Sixam takes place in parallel with photosynthesis in their own world. Despite the alien environment, oxygen is produced, making the air breathable.

She should go back up there and take some air samples. In order to defend her thesis, she needs to be able to back it up with tangible evidence.

She rises restlessly from her chair….
This is an ever-exhausting conflict within her. Her urge to pursue scientific research is disrupted by the struggle to achieve pregnancy. The influence of hormones affects both her emotions and her concentration. She cannot control it, and it scares her out of her wits.

She needs to be in control.

She looks up and sees the painting of the giraffe family.

The little childish painting she once painted when she imagined that she and Martin were in the process of starting a family together.
So little did she know back then…

She should take it down, but for Martin’s sake she’ll wait until he’s gone.
It will probably hurt him to see such clear evidence that she has given up on that dream.

She shakes the thoughts out of her head and calls her workplace to say she’s taking a few days off, to work from home.

Then she sits down at the keyboard again.

She takes another look at the blank document on the screen and begins to write her outline.

Early morning in San Myshuno

Fatima inhales the scent of freshly ground coffee beans as she pours a measured amount of coffee powder into the coffee maker. She lets out a sigh of pleasure.
Last night was a nightmare. She and Elijah spent most of the night fixing pipes and mopping up water from the floor. She never got to drink the cup of coffee she planned on….Maybe that’s why coffee was the first thing she thought of this morning when she woke up.

Her train of thought is interrupted by a bang. Sparks fly out of the coffee maker, followed by a hideous smell of burnt plastic…. Thus, her plan is thwarted once again.

Ghosts or not, there seems to be some kind of evil spirit hanging over the apartment. Things just break a little too often for it to be a coincidence.

She sends a quick message to a repairman. This is an emergency.

She hears Elijah whistle cheerfully as he enters the room and she gives him an irritated look.

He caresses her cheek gently. “Hi Fatima, what happened to your beautiful smile?”

“There’s not much to smile about. Now the damn ghosts have killed the coffee maker,” she replies annoyed.
“Oh, I see! We’ll have to do something about that,” he replies.

Morning in Brindleton Bay

Trix looks at Tusnelda inquisitively and calls her with a meow. He can always sense when something is bothering her.

She turns off the computer and gets up. She can’t concentrate on her work so she might as well do something else. Preferably something that doesn’t require her brain activity.

Her garden beds need weeding, so it’s a welcome physical activity that’s easy to do and can also distract her from her mental clutter.

Martin is still sleeping. He must still be exhausted from last night’s run.

Tusnelda looks thoughtfully at her rocket as she passes by.

Here in this part of the garden she has a small bed with alien plants she brought from Sixam.

Her latest discovery about photosynthesis on Sixam explains why they thrive so well here.
*****

Tusnelda goes back to the vegetable garden to harvest her crops. She absentmindedly begins to tell the plants about her chaotic emotions.
Her plants are always there to listen without interrupting.

Maybe it’s the sound of Tusnelda’s voice on the other side of the bedroom window that wakes Martin up.

He looks towards her empty side of the bed. He hopes she has calmed down after sleeping and they will have a chance to talk like two reasonable adults.
He should never have let her go through this hormone therapy. He should have known her better…. how it would affect her….

They are two adults with well-paying jobs and healthy lifestyles. He is sure they will be approved to adopt without any problems.
He realizes that he is already far ahead of Tusnelda in this process. It is no use now… First of all, he needs a shower, and then he will have to see what the day brings.

He lets the water run down his body, washing away yesterday’s difficulties. Ready to tackle a new day with fresh eyes.

Morning in San Myshuno

Fortunately, it doesn’t take long before a repair woman arrives to fix the coffee maker.
“I’ll do my best, but I’m not sure this repair will last. You should consider buying a new one,” she says.
“Oh no, does that mean you don’t recommend I use this one?” Fatima says worriedly.

“I’ll look for a replacement,” Elijah says, bending over his frying pan.
“That would definitely be my recommendation,” the repair woman says before she leaves.
Fatima doesn’t say much as she sits down at her laptop. She might as well finish the task she didn’t get to do last night. The prospect of going without her morning coffee makes her withdrawn and grumpy.

Elijah whistles a little tune as he flips scrambled eggs on the frying pan.

“You seem surprisingly cheerful considering our mess last night,” Fatima says.
“I always love messing around with you at night, Fatima,” he replies cheerfully without looking up.

“Arg Elijah, that’s not the kind of mess I’m talking about,” she says, blushing, standing up to fill the cat feeder.
She hears him chuckling in the background.

“What do you have on the frying pan?” she asks curiously.
“Scrambled eggs…I thought we could use some breakfast before we leave,” he replies, his gaze focused on the egg mixture.

“Where are we going?” she asks in surprise.
“We are going to find a new home, right? …. Breakfast is ready for you now.”

They eat their breakfast standing up, eager to get on with the day.
Fatima looks at Elijah with a smile, “Where should we start looking for a home?”
“I think we start in Windenburg by asking around. Why not start at the restaurant in the Olde Platz, by buying you a nice cup of morning coffee.”
Fatima can feel the day is already getting better.
*****
Morning in Brindleton Bay

Tusnelda returns to the house after harvesting her vegetables and herbs.

She sees Martin standing at the other end of the room with an attentive look.

She tries to avoid his gaze by turning her attention to the kittens who are cuddling each other.

Then she can’t avoid it anymore and she looks at him.
He looks kindly back at her.

He gives her a familiar kiss on the cheek.
“Hey sweetie, did you sleep well?”

“To be honest, I haven’t slept much.”

“Yes, I assume you’ve had a pretty stressful evening and night,” he says with a searching look.

She doesn’t answer him right away but looks at him in silence.
She feels a hatred begins to grow in her for his human excess and his friendliness. These are at the same time things she loves about him, so she feels as if she is being torn apart by conflicting emotions.

“Hey Sweetie, I’ve been thinking about us going on a vacation together. On a retreat in the woods or to Mike’s in Chestnut Ridge. I remember how you love to ride. It would be good for us to get away from it all…”

“I’m sorry Martin, but I can’t right now. Not with you. You should leave or I’ll move back to the mine. I can’t be with you right now,” she replies, with a sad expression.

“But Tusnelda, please don’t shut me out. I really want to help you,” he replies heavily.

“Then you have to let me go,” she replies a little too hard and determined with an empty, emotionless gaze.

He feels like his heart is torn to pieces as he silently realizes that there is nothing, he can say or do that won’t increase her resistance. She has made her decision, however meaningless it may be.

They stand facing each other for a short moment longer, reflecting the pain in each other’s eyes.

Then he chooses to leave the room.

How the hell did they end up here?

He closes the door behind him and stands pondering his own question, unable to find an answer that makes sense.
He feels anger growing within him. There is no point here other than that they should support each other in good and bad times. That’s a promise they once made to each other, didn’t they?

He wants to shake her. Yell at her for her stubbornness. Her inability to see things from anything other than her own perspective.

He has rarely gotten angry with her, but this time she has really pissed him off and he stomps angrily past his treadmill.

He knows she probably needs time, but he feels mentally exhausted and really angry.

He walks towards the climbing wall and looks angrily at the top.
He wants to prove that no goal is impossible for him to reach. He wants to prove that he never gives up.

He tries to focus away from the anger raging inside him as he types in his target numbers. He tries to think about something other than her.
*****

After changing into workout clothes, he lets the wall roll and begins to climb upwards.

He almost loses his grip immediately….Damn, he needs to focus or he’s going to fall.

He tries once again to find his footing while grabbing onto the knobs on the wall.

He reaches upwards and quickly climbs towards the top.

Once again, he loses his footing and barely avoids falling to the ground. He growls angrily to himself…
“Stay focused man! You can’t lose this fight too…”

Finally, his body seems to remember, and he lets go of all thoughts of anything but climbing.

Morning in Windenburg Olde Platz

Fatima and Elijah have just landed at the town square in Windenburg. Somehow Ambrosius has slipped along for the ride. They should bring him home and start over, but they agree that the cat might enjoy some new experiences.

Fatima goes to the receptionist at the restaurant at once to ask if she can buy coffee.
She can have a cup of coffee here as part of their dessert menu. If that’s what’s needed, she’ll happily order a dessert with it.

Elijah follows after giving Ambrosius a command to stay in the square outside the restaurant.
He has experience with training dogs when he was a boy, and he assumes that cats can be trained the same way. At least when it comes to a clever cat like Ambrosius.

When he follows Fatima, the host has already found a table for them.
*****

It quickly becomes clear to Elijah that Ambrosius has not understood the first lesson in the dog training program, which is the command “Stay!”
Elijah catches him and gives him a hug.

“Listen buddy, pets are supposed to stay outside the restaurant. Unfortunately, that includes you, so let’s try again…If you can stay outside, you get a treat,” Elijah says.
Ambrosius looks at him in surprise.

To carry out the message, Elijah immediately finds a treat and then, with a pleasant feeling of satiety, Ambrosius sets off on an adventure.

“I’m afraid he’ll get lost. Maybe we should bring him back home right away,” Fatima says with a worried expression.
“Nonsense, he’ll be fine. He’s a smart cat,” Elijah says confidently.

“I hope you’re right, Elijah…”
“Should we order your coffee?” Elijah asks.

“Oh yes, I’m looking forward to that,” Fatima says eagerly.
“I thought so,” he laughs.

Their waiter comes with a menu and stands waiting for their order.
“It was lucky we had breakfast at home,” Elijah whispers.

“I would like to order a large cup of coffee for my wife, a Barley Bale for me, and two unspecified cakes of the house recommendation.” he says.

“Barley Bale!? at this time of the morning.” Fatima says in surprise.
“You know me Fatima, I’m not quite as much of a coffee person as you.”
*****

“It’s great to be back in Windenburg, you know Fatima, it was here you made me realize I was in love with you.”
“Yes, and I fell in love with you,” she replies quietly.

“Aren’t we just the lucky ones, Fatima? ….I know my luck started when you walked into my life.” Elijah says, looking at her with a loving gaze.
“Well, if you can ignore the broken water pipes and electrical appliances,” Fatima replies, blushing. …. Elijah can sometimes be so overwhelming in his expressions.

“Everything happens for a reason, and I’m sure the broken water pipes are meant to show us that we have to move on. New happiness is waiting just around the corner… but first you have to drink your coffee while it’s still hot,” he says.
“Haha, if you would please stop disturbing me while I’m drinking it.” she laughs.

Elijah lets his thoughts wander as Fatima sips her coffee in quiet devotion.
Although he loves their apartment and the Artists’ Quarter in San Myshuno, it would be a dream if they could find a place to live in this charming old town. …If only they could find a place with space for a photo studio.

After Fatima has finished her coffee and he has finished his Barley Bale, they look at each other.
“Should we go and pick up Ambrosius so we can move on?” he asks.
“Gosh, yes, Ambrosius. I hope he hasn’t run away…”

As a starting point, Ambrosius has been to the town square. That was before he started exploring the city on his own.
*****
Morning in Brindleton Bay

Martin suddenly becomes aware of Tusnelda standing and staring at him.

He has no idea how long she has been standing there, but he crawls down the climbing wall and walks towards her.

What should one do when language no longer creates communication, but every spoken word hurts and creates a deeper distance?

He touches her with caution, aware that one wrong word could make the break irreparable.

She stares back at him with infinitely sad eyes.

Then, with the utmost caution, he closes the distance between them.

Wordlessly, with a cautious smile, she invites him to follow her.

Even though the tension between them seems insurmountable, they find a way into each other.

Once again they find each other on the same note. On a celestial journey to the special place where stars are born in a cascade of pink sparks.
*****
Noon in Windenburg Olde Platz

Ambrosius has ended up at the western end of Windenburg Olde Platz on his excursion and is now trying to remember his way back to the starting point.

Fatima hears him calling from afar and quickly runs towards him.
“I’ve seen him Elijah! Just ahead,” she shouts.

“There you are, my boy,” Elijah says calmly.
It seems unfair that Ambrosius runs past Fatima towards Elijah. Even though Fatima is the cat lover who is responsible for Ambrosius becoming part of this family, there is something about Elijah’s personality that seems irresistible to the cat. Fatima does not disagree with him in that opinion.

Ambrosius stands right in front of Elijah and looks at him with an appealing meow.

“Come on buddy,” Elijah says as he squats down and invites the cat to jump into his arms.
Ambrosius doesn’t wait twice for the invitation but lands with an elegant leap into Elijah’s safe embrace.

Fatima seems to have lost interest in both Elijah and the cat. Something else is catching her attention.

“We should probably practice the commands a little more. ‘Stay’ means you have to stay close,” Elijah says seriously.
Ambrosius looks at Elijah in wonder. Doesn’t he know he’s a cat? A cat’s nature and free spirit dictate that he should go his own way.

Fatima still stands there as if petrified, not moving. However, a smile begins to appear on her face.
“Elijah, you have to see this,” she says.

“Well it sounds like Fatima wants something from us, so let’s see what she has in mind,”

Still holding the cat in his arms, Elijah approaches with relaxed steps.

Here it is revealed to the readers what has caught Fatima’s eye.
A sign reveals that this old property is for sale

Fatima is extremely excited about this coincidence, so she walks with impatient steps to talk to Elijah.

“What’s going on Fatima? Why do you look so triumphant?” Elijah asks in wonder.
She doesn’t answer him but continues to look at him with a strange look.

“Well Buddy, you’re on your own now, but don’t run away,” Elijah admonishes as he puts Ambrosius down.

“You shouldn’t scold him. Instead, you should kiss him because he went on his own explorations,” Fatima cheers.
???

“What do you mean?” Elijah asks, wondering.
“He found our new home!” Fatima cheers in an excited voice.

As Elijah follows Fatima towards the house, he sees the sign.
They have barely started their search and then there is a house ready for sale right in front of them. Is it a miracle or just the usual luck that has followed him ever since Fatima came into his life.

“There you can see, you are my lucky star,” he says in an emotional voice and takes Fatima’s hands.

“I think this time we’ll attribute the lucky star to Ambrosius.” she says and hugs him.

Well, now that Fatima mentions Ambrosius, he has once again embarked on an independent adventure and no one seems to notice.

There are still undiscovered corners in this city and who knows, maybe more houses for sale.

At first, Ambrosius doesn’t find another house, but instead an interesting bush that might hide a rodent he can hunt.
Although Ambrosius is a spoiled apartment cat, he hasn’t completely lost his instincts.

Fatima and Elijah don’t seem to have noticed Ambrosius disappearance, as they are in the process of inspecting the back of the house.
The house has an extension in a significantly more futuristic architectural style than the old main house. However, Elijah is a bit unsure whether there is room for a photo studio.

“Look around, Elijah. This plot is huge, so maybe we can build an annex for your studio,” says Fatima.
Elijah gets the feeling that Fatima has already chosen this place with her heart. He doesn’t completely disagree, but there is still some sense hidden behind his otherwise impulsive personality.
“In any case, we should contact the Real Estate Agent to get all the information,” he says.

We look at a picture of the house for a moment before we move on.
The strange extensions are primarily due to the architect being a lazy builder who would rather make extensions than start from scratch.
Of course, you can also say that this is a very ecological way of thinking that is completely in line with the spirit of contemporary thinking. Let’s stick to the last interpretation.
*****
Noon in Brindleton Bay

In Brindleton Bay, Tusnelda and Martin have been fully occupied with their mutual mending for a while. This means they have been less concerned with the fact that the household now has two fully grown teenage cats that need training.
Now, however, they have reappeared from under the covers of the duvets. Mia should better give up her antics before she gets discovered.

So far, they only seem to have eyes for each other, so Mia gets away with it this time.
“Thanks Sweetie, I really needed this.”

“In the same way Martin, that was nice. I needed it too, I guess.” she answers seriously.

“You know I’d do anything for you, right?” he says in a soft voice.

“I know, Martin,” she replies, worried about what comes next.

“Hey sweetie, I can feel you getting tense. I promise I’m not trying to pressure you…”

“If you really need me to leave for a while, that’s what I’ll do,” he says gently.

“Thank you Martin, I’m really glad you can understand me.”

She gets up from the edge of the bed and he quickly follows.
“Well about that…” he begins.

She doesn’t give him a chance to speak as she shuts his mouth with a kiss, holding him tight.
He feels her devotion and It aroused a lot of conflicting emotions in him. It’s like she’s trying to both attract and repel him at the same time.

He lets himself fall onto the edge of the bed.
“I’m getting so damn confused,” he says with a pained look.

“I know, Martin. I’m confused too.”

“But Tusnelda, listen to yourself…Why is it necessary? Why do we have to torture each other like this?”

“I told you I need some time alone to figure myself out. Can’t we just enjoy these last days together?” she growls with an almost hostile expression.

“Well, I guess we should,” he says despondently.
Once again, he is struck by grief. A moment ago he felt so close to her, but now… It wasn’t long before their fragile little bubble of compassion burst.

“I will plan the final details of my departure at the computer,” he says resignedly.

She feels a twinge of guilt and grabs his hands.
“Maybe we could go to the park in Oasis Springs, to go fishing and enjoy the nice weather?”

“Now you want us to go on a trip together?” he says, wondering…
“Well, we can do that…I just need to make a call.” he says after a short hesitation.

Damn, that woman is contradictory. For a moment he wonders if she’s gone insane, but he assumes she’s just stubborn and impulsive as always.

Tusnelda really hopes Martin will understand she is fighting to preserve their marriage and her love for him.

This state of inconsistency is hard to participate in for a man like Martin, who always seems determined and unwavering in his choices. He can feel it starting to make him inconsistent as well.
For the first time, he gets a hint of a thought that perhaps it would be a relief for him to move out.
*****
Noon in Willow Creek

In the middle of the day, Elijah, Fatima (and Ambrosius) arrive at the Real Estate Agent in Willow Creek.

A bell rings as they step through the door and it calls the Real Estate Agent from his back office.

He introduces himself as Dan Hussted and asks about their purpose.

“We have seen a house in Windenburg Old Platz that’s for sale,” says Fatima.
“Oh yes, it’s a very charming old townhouse,” says the sales agent with an attentive look.

“We would like to hear a few more details about it. Its condition and the price,” Elijah interjects.
“Yes, of course, sir… The condition report mentions no serious defects. The house is in excellent condition. However, the earlier owner had to abandon his renovation project unfinished after his company went bankrupt. This means that the new buyer has a lot of influence on the interior design…. The house is not found in a cheap area. It is a highly sought-after area, and this has an impact on the sales price.” the sales agent says.

For a moment, the sales agent stops his speech and looks at them with an appraising look…. “May I ask what your budget is?” he asks.
“I don’t think money will be a limitation. I actually won the lottery,” Elijah says.

“Oh, I see. In that case, maybe I could make some more suggestions,” says the sales agent.
He is probably already eyeing up a particularly lucrative trade.

“He points to some pictures on the board in front of them. We have just acquired this very unique villa for sale in Brindleton Bay. This villa was designed by a highly recognized design studio located in Nordhaven. A building for the discerning buyer, located close to the sea and green areas,” says the sales agent to his astonished listeners.
It is not possible for them to enter a comment before the sales agent continues.

“I have a suggestion for you… Let’s arrange a viewing of the building in Brindleton Bay…”
“I would really love to take a closer look at the house in Windenburg,” says Fatima.
“It’s definitely not a bad thing to have something to compare it to. I suggest we start the day with a tour of the house in Windenburg Old Platz before we head to Brindleton Bay,” says the sales agent, spreading his arms welcomingly.

“To start somewhere, I can show you some prospects,” the sales agent says smoothly, when he notices Elijah and Fatima’s hesitation. He then points them in the direction of a board at the other end of the room.
His experience has taught him that you should always start by meeting customers by taking their inquiries seriously, thereby gaining their trust and then opening them up so they can see the needs they are not yet aware of.
*****

“By the way, call me Dan,” he says. Then he continues…
“It’s really rare for a building like this to come up for sale in this part of town,” he says, his eyes on Fatima.
Elijah looks at him with a raised eyebrow. This guy is really smooth-talking. His flattering manner of speaking undoubtedly enables him to sell sand in the Sahara Desert.

So far he hasn’t even mentioned the price, so Elijah lets the speech flow through while he tries to get an overview of the house, using the photographs on the board. He sees a greenhouse and a large kitchen, but not exactly a room suitable for a photo studio.
When Elijah returns his attention to the conversation, he directs his gaze towards Fatima, who has just asked the agent a relevant question.

“How much does a house like this cost?”
“This house and lot can be purchased as is without any improvements for a price of 21,375.00 Simoleons,” the agent says.

Fatima looks at the house with dreamy eyes. She loves the black woodwork and the whitewashed walls.

Elijah steps aside. He’s getting a little tired of the amount of flourishing superlatives flowing in a steady stream from the agents mouth.
Oddly enough, Elijah himself is quite good at smooth-talking, but he is also a good listener. This guy only seems to listen for the sound of Simoleons landing in his cash register.

When he finally catches Fatima’s eye, he asks if they can talk in private.

“I haven’t gotten much wiser, except that we can pay for the house in Windenburg without any problems…. However, I’m not entirely sure that it meets my needs for a photo studio, but what do you think?” he asks.

“I really like that house Elijah, but I think we should take the tours Dan suggests,” she replies.

“Then that’s what we do. We will arrange a date for a tour before we go…. But Fatima, remind me not to forget my earplugs that day,” Elijah says, stroking her cheek.

She looks at him in surprise, not quite understanding what he’s referring to.
“His vocabulary rhymes with big profit,” Elijah says in a whisper.
“Oh Elijah, I don’t think he’s that bad. I’m sure you’ll survive.”
*****

After arranging a tour date with the Real Estate Agent, they leave his store.

Elijah has received an invitation for the afternoon, but first they have to pick up Ambrosius before they head home.

Ambrosius has once again gone on an adventure in a new and unknown neighborhood.
He answers Elijah with a loud meow when he hears him call.

Elijah runs quickly in the direction of the sound.

However, Ambrosius is nowhere to be seen.

He is tired and hungry and because he is such a smart cat, he is now heading towards their starting point.

Elijah and Fatima are not to be seen outside the store so Ambrosius continues inside.

Here he is found by a somewhat surprised Real Estate Agent.
“Well kitty, since your family is gone, I better give them a call,” says Dan.

However, he never gets there before Elijah comes through the door.

“Well Buddy, for you today’s adventure ends here,” Elijah says.
No doubt Ambrosius has no objections.

Afternoon in Oasis Springs

While the excursion ends for Ambrosius, it begins for Tusnelda and Martin, who have just arrived at the Desert Bloom Park in Oasis Springs.

We let the camera follow the black dog, as at first I thought it was Sasha, the dog that Tusnelda loves. It’s not.

Tusnelda immediately begins collecting minerals and ancient fossils.

Martin finds a waterhole where he can fish.

Martin has never really been into fishing. It’s more of something Tusnelda usually enjoys.
While he stands with the fishing rod, he gradually comes to terms with how his coming time will unfold. He has decided to take a leave of absence and spend the time traveling. He has an unfulfilled dream he might be able to fulfill.

He is awakened from his train of thought when he catches a beautiful discus fish. It is carefully stored for the aquarium.

He has made an appointment with Rasmus tomorrow so they can talk it all through. It’s great that they are still best friends in a time like this.

The sun is low over Desert Bloom Park. Tusnelda is still busy gathering.

As she walks from one place to the next, lured by things she can harvest, she has reached the farthest end of the park.

When she gets back on her feet, she sees a beautiful view in front of her.

This must be a public viewpoint because someone has placed a bench.

As she sits on the bench in front of this unique perspective, she suddenly misses Martin’s presence.

It’s as if the empty seat next to her really makes her understand that he will soon be gone.

But that’s exactly what she wants. What she asked him for. Why does she now feel such an urge to ask him to stay?
She’s such a mess.
*****
Late afternoon in Windenburg

While Tusnelda tries to figure out what she actually wants, six friends from the Powerhouse Club are gathering outside the Harbor Quarter Gym in Windenburg.

It’s the last night before Don’s departure for his jungle adventure in Selvadorada, and his friends want to say a proper goodbye to him with this small gathering.

The newest member of the Powerhouse club, Elijah, has also shown up, although he doesn’t know Don that well.
Through Fatima, he has understood that he is a guy you can expect a little bit of everything from… Especially if you are a woman.

Rasmus is Don’s very best friend regardless of his antics, so it goes without saying that he is here today.

Don, who is always looking for trainees, feels called to give Rasmus some edifying advice about his training.

“Please, Don, shut up!” Rasmus groans.
It becomes clear to him that he hasn’t visited the training center since the twins were born and it’s noticeable now.

“You’re actually in surprisingly good shape, Rasmus,” Don praises.
“Thanks Don,” Rasmus says, a little surprised by this statement.
In the background, Elijah seems to be getting curious about Don and Rasmus’ conversation.

Don looks up at him in surprise as he gets closer but recognizes him as Marcus’ friend.
“Hi! … I’m sorry I forgot the name, but if you need a trained coach then this is your last chance today,” Don says kindly.
“My name is Elijah, but no thanks I’ll manage,” Elijah says, wondering about Don’s lack of presence.

“Hi Elijah, I’m Rasmus. I remember you from Marcus and Jade’s wedding the other day. I think my friend here had a little too much to think about on that occasion,” Rasmus says with a smirk.
“No need to go into detail,” Don mutters.

“Of course not Don. I will never give you away.”

“I understand you’re going on an expedition into the jungle?” Elijah says.
“Well…I assume that’s the plan,” Don replies hesitantly.

“Hey Don, you sound like it’s a punishment, but it is not… You’re actually lucky to win this unique adventure. I’d love to go with you, but right now I’m busy with other commitments,” says Rasmus.
“Yeah, it would have been really nice to make this trip with you.” Don says.
Elijah looks at Rasmus, smiling. He likes his spirit.
*****

Rasmus has ditched the gym equipment in favor of the bar on the first floor. He’s mixing up a handful of Buffalo Wing Tea for Don and his friends.
In reality, Don would probably prefer sparkling water, but it’s not a very festive drink to send him abroad with, if anyone were to ask Rasmus.

No one would dare challenge Rasmus’ expertise, as he is a trained chef with several years of experience. Therefore, it is also natural for him to take on the task of providing drinks and food.

Paulo looks with satisfaction at the entire range of drinks and offers to call the other Club members.

Slowly, the friends trickle up to the kitchen, and when Don enters the room, Rasmus raises his glass and wishes him an exciting and safe adventure.

The two friends sit down together.

“I want to tell you, Rasmus, that if I don’t survive, you should know that I have truly valued our friendship. You are my Bro and my best friend forever,” Don says with an unusually moved voice.
“Please Don, you’re not going to die.” Rasmus laughs.
It’s actually a possibility, as the jungle turns out to have more traps and unknown dangers than Rasmus can imagine. Just for the facts…. But for Don, these facts are still unknown knowledge, so he’s probably just sensitive to the prospect of facing the unknown.

A yoga instructor called for a yoga session and some from the group chose to participate.

There’s no one here who seems to be beyond beginner level.

Rasmus chooses the stove over the hassle of standing in impossible positions. Here he is a true expert. He loves to cook, and nothing can distract him while he is concentrating on the taste and texture of the dish.

He might otherwise recognize the young man, talking to a guy at the other end of the room. He is one of the craftsmen who renovated his house.
Some will also recognize Matt as the guy Alice has made a convenient arrangement with. Here we see that he apparently has a crush on Knox Greenburg. Love and passion can lead to unexpected turns in life.

Late afternoon in Oasis Springs

For Martin, life has definitely taken an unexpected turn.

It may not be with his good will, but he has accepted that he has to step aside. Whatever Tusnelda is struggling with, it is not his job to figure it out.

Sometimes you just have to let go of the idea that life is going to turn out the way you want or expect. It doesn’t have to be your defeat, it’s just out of your control.
*****

The food is finished grilling, and Martin gives a loud whistle and looks out over the landscape.

Shortly after, he sees her.

Tusnelda feels somewhat relieved when she sees Martin standing relaxed and waiting for her.

“Hey Martin, I just saw the most amazing view of the countryside. Someday in the future I’ll show you.”
“I’ll look forward to that, Sweetie,”

He catches her eye as they sit down. “Tusnelda, promise me that you’ll be safe and take good care of yourself,” he says, holding her steady with his gaze.
“I promise you, Martin.”

To break the intense atmosphere, she points to the sky. “Look Martin, a pair of peregrine falcons,”
He follows the direction she points and sees a pair of birds performing rapid aerial acrobatics in the sky.

The falcons part for a moment, then meet again just above their heads to fly on in the next second.
It is said that peregrine falcons pair for life. In a way, he feels this knowledge and the sight happening right above them as a promise that everything will come together again.

They eat together in silence, as twilight blurs their view of the birds.

As the streetlights turn on, she looks at her phone. It’s evening and they should be going home.

Before they return home, they share a kiss just to remember that whatever separates them, they still belong together.

Evening in the Harbor Quarter Gym in Windenburg

The yoga class is over, and Clara seems to have found interest in Elijah.

One might suspect that muscular, tattooed men with black hair have a special attraction for her, which is a bummer since her husband has neither black hair nor tattoos.
Elijah is, as always, curiously interested in people he meets on his way. Clara is no exception, but she shouldn’t get her hopes up that he will take Don’s place as a casual playmate.

Don seems to have lost interest in anything other than battling his own inner demons.
*****

Rasmus calls everyone to the meal. He has made a fairly simple pasta dish. A gym is hardly a restaurant, but it is still a place where friends can meet and eat together.

Elijah sits down opposite Rasmus. He is quite curious about how he and Don have become such good friends since they hardly have much in common.
“It’s funny how many people find this particular topic interesting. Don and I don’t agree on everything, but we respect each other nonetheless.” Rasmus explains.

Clara finds an opportunity to get closer to Don, but it’s clear to her that something has changed. He seems to have lost his old cocky confidence.
In the background, Rasmus tells Elijah about the time he and Don lived together in Sulani.

“So, you and Don have actually traveled together before? What’s changed since you can’t do it again?” Elijah asks.

“Life changed. I met a fantastic woman, got married and have just become a father to two…no actually three children… I adopted Izumi’s son when our twins were born. That means I’m going to be stuck in Brindleton Bay for a while…. but, don’t get me wrong, it’s actually a great place to live.”

“Wow! three kids at once. That sounds like a life-changing experience,” Elijah gasps.
“It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Rasmus replies.
A chair rattles in the background as Don stands up to offer his seat to Marcus.

“Thanks Don. Afterwards, I suggest we go on to The Narwhal Arm, like in the old days. Just to send you off with a bang,” Marcus says, laughing.
“What do you mean by a bang, Marcus?”
“I mean, of course, we should party and grab a drink or two. What happened to your spirit man?”

Rasmus extends his hand towards Elijah. “I haven’t been to The Narwhal Arm since the night before my wedding. It would be nice if you would come with us?”
“Yeah why not….I know that place…I was actually in the area earlier today looking for a house.”

“Oh, you want to move to Windenburg?
“It was in The Narwhal Arm Fatima made me realize that I was in love with her, and at the same time, I guess I fell in love with the area.”
It really seems like Elijah and Rasmus get along well, but I guess it’s not that strange? They are both quite outgoing and both have a rather optimistic approach to life. Few will remember that it hasn’t always been that way for Rasmus.

Late evening in Brindleton Bay

In the meantime, Tusnelda has lit a campfire in the backyard.

Martin joins her and holds his hands out to the warmth. He has many fond memories of evenings they have spent in front of a campfire here or in the forest.

He turns to her. “It seems like forever since we last stood here by the fire,”
“Yes, it seems like a long time ago,” she replies.

He gets a bittersweet memory….
It was right after Rasmus and Izumi’s wedding. Rasmus’ friend Don was living with Rasmus’ family at the time. They were all visiting and they were gathered around a bonfire in the garden….
He was playing his guitar, and he was so indescribably happy because they had just discovered that Tusnelda was pregnant. So little did they know what would happen…

As Tusnelda can almost read him, she interrupts his train of thought and asks him to play for her.
*****

The cats come running from near and far as Martin begins to play and sing with his deep, soft voice.

For Tusnelda, there is no doubt. He is her one true love in life.
No matter what hardships they have faced, she can never blame him. He will always be there for her.

He looks directly at her and gives her a wink, and she can sense that he will be fine.
*****
Late night at The Narwhal Arm

Attraction between people seems to take the most incredible paths. The Powerhouse club members have now arrived at their destination.
Here we see Matt for the second time this evening and now it seems like he has a crush on Clara. One might suspect that Matt is attracted to every creature on two legs…. Hopefully ducks and chickens excepted, otherwise he will be ripe for a mental examination.

At first, Clara chooses not to investigate the obvious option, so she quickly follows her friends into The Narwhal Arm.

Rasmus immediately goes to the bar to order a glass of red nectar.
In the background, Jade can be seen arriving. She has probably been invited by Marcus.

Rasmus sits down on an empty seat next to Don and raises his glass to his lips.
“I don’t understand what it is about you and red nectar. You seem pretty addicted to it,” Don says.

“Please Don, now you’re not being reasonable. I almost never go to bars anymore,” says Rasmus.
“Maybe it’s lucky you had those kids, so you stay away from the bars.” Don says.

“Do you really think I’m managing my life so badly?” Rasmus asks seriously.
“No, hell no, it’s the other way around. I’m the bad guy here,” Don says in shock.
“You’re not bad, Don. You just haven’t figured out where you belong.”

The group of friends gathers around the disc jockey who gets the dancing going.

Soon Don and Rasmus join the dance and in this way they all make sure to send him of with loud music and a deafening bang.

Night in Brindleton Bay

The cat has moved from the radiant heat of the fire into another warm and cozy spot. Here Melvin and Fiona are seen sleeping.

Martin has gone to the computer to buy tickets for his departure.

Tusnelda is still sitting by the fire. She has many thoughts, but no matter how she turns them around, she only becomes even more worried and emotionally conflicted about her own state of mind.

She goes into the living room and finds Martin at the computer.

“Hi Tusnelda, I think I have almost everything under control. I have arranged a leave of absence, and I will leave tomorrow while you are at work. I think it will be the least painful for both of us that way.”

“Yeah, that sounds very reasonable,” says Tusnelda, while her own thoughts swarm around her overheated brain… How can he be so determined? How can he be so decisive? … How can it be so easy for him to leave her? … No, those are stupid thoughts… Why is she such a mess?
She knows she’s not being reasonable at all. She’s asked him to leave and at the same time there’s a panicked voice inside her that’s screaming, don’t leave me Martin! Stay!

“I’m going out into the garden too get some fresh air, while you sort out your things….See you in a moment,” she hears her mouth say.
“Yeah, that’s fine Sweetie,” she hears him mutter a little absently.
*****

Sometimes life just takes its course. You can’t blame Tusnelda alone for all the mess that has arisen in her brain. Sure, she has things she needs to sort out, but the question is whether there can even be any question of guilt and responsibility when an outside influence she can’t control interferes and starts to play with her.

She is certainly not responsible for her being abducted yet again. The question is whether these aliens are trying to save her from her brain fog by their experiments or are they just trying to add insult to injury.
*****

There’s not much more Martin can do in terms of planning his departure, so he goes to the fridge and gets some leftover food.

One last thing is that he has to pack his suitcase, but he will take care of it just before he leaves tomorrow. He has already written a packing list with everything written down.

Midnight in The Narwhal Arm

In The Narwhal Arm, Valentino has joined the group to help send Don off with a so-called bang.
As some may recall, Eva has taken over the leadership of the Partyhaus Club, as Jade has become a boring, tied-up woman (Eva’s wording). Therefore, it is not surprising that she has appeared in The Narwhal Arm.
If there is a party, you will find Eva and she at once spots Don. Let’s say she has some hot vibrant memories of him and his divine body. The guy next to Don is certainly not the worst either, despite his age. She can judge a man’s physical condition with a single experienced glance.

She gives Don a wink and wiggles her hips in a playful dance move.
“Hey Don, long time no see. Do you want to do some naughty dancing?”
This cheeky invitation makes a particularly strong impression on Valentino, but Don is initially speechless.

“She’s a real cutie. It sounds like you and she have a history together,” Valentino says with a searching look.
“Well, you could say that. She’s definitely not boring,” Don laughs, thinking of several very satisfying one night stands in the past.

Don’s mood may soon change because now Katrina comes through the door. She and Don certainly have a past too… not to mention a rather hateful ending.
Let’s get straight to the point and skip a lot of the middle ground. Valentino kindly gives up his seat to Katrina, who obviously has something she wants to talk to Don about. In other words, make his humiliation complete….

She looks at him with a sweet, indulgent look, like she looks at a minor child.
“Hey Don, I see you’re still hanging out at the nightlife, checking out who you can take down… You poor boy, it must be so stressful… I’m glad I’ve moved on. I have actually met a very handsome mature man who will never cheat on me, like you.”

“I’m glad to hear that, Katrina, you deserve it,” Don says, looking at her gently with his beautiful emerald green eyes.
It’s an answer Katrina certainly didn’t expect, and she didn’t expect him to look at her so tenderly, which at once sends her right back to a state of heart palpitations and weak knees.

“Damn it Don! Stop playing with me…I’m not falling for your sweet talk anymore.” she wails in frustration.
“But I’m not playing with you Katrina.”

“Do you think I’m that stupid, Don? I know you and the methods you use to seduce every damn woman in pretty much every neighborhood. You are and always will be a dishonest fraud.”
“Actually, I’m not anymore….”

“Arg! Shut up Don! I won’t fall for your sick lies anymore.”
“I’m really sorry I hurt you, Katrina. I know I was a jerk.”
Katrina has absolutely no desire to listen to more crap from Don’s mouth. It makes no sense, so she stands up and turns her back on him.

When she’s a little distance away, she turns and looks at him. He looks at her, but it’s as if the physical distance between them makes her pounding heart slow down.
He is a handsome man with some really soft, intoxicated eyes, but he is not her problem anymore. She realizes she has to let go of the pain.
“Goodbye Don,” she says, with no more anger.
*****

Eva watches Don intently. She has often had to mend his wounded sense of masculinity after his arguments with Katrina.

“Hey Don, are you okay? Do you need me to cheer you up?” Eva asks, searching his eyes.
At first, Don looks past her. He can see Katrina standing behind Eva, talking to her new lover. The man quickly turns his head and looks at him briefly, then looks back at Katrina.

Don turns his attention to Eva. She actually looks cute in her baby pink jacket, as Valentino has just pointed out.
“No, but thanks Eva. I’m fine,”

He again lets his gaze wander behind Eva, where Katrina is passionately kissing her new lover.

“I assume she’s okay too. She seems to be in good hands….”

Eva turns her gaze in the direction Don is looking.
“Well yes it seems so….”

“He’s a real hottie… I’m sure with the enthusiastic way he can use his hands, she won’t have a single piece of clothing on her body in under twenty minutes… I certainly wouldn’t hold back if I were in her place,” Eva says with an insightful look.

“My god Eva, you are incorrigible,” Don laughs out loud.

“What happened to you, Don? I don’t really recognize you… You have to admit we’ve had some really hot hookups together.”

“We certainly have, Eva,” Don says, blushing by the memories…. “You can’t be accused of being without a creative ability.”
“I’m glad you think so, Don. You’ve definitely been worth the time.”

“So, are you absolutely sure you don’t need my creativity tonight? Just to reminisce about the good old days?”
Don hesitates for a while before answering…

“Yeah, that might be nice…” he says, with dreamy eyes….Then he thinks about his damned paralysis and the abyss where an anxiety attack lurks for him in the darkness.
“I rather not, but you should know Eva that you have definitely been worth the time too.” he says, looking her straight in the eyes.
“Thanks Don. I do hope you will return,” she says in a soft voice, without quite pinpointing whether she’s referring to his jungle adventure or his current condition. It could be both.

Don gets up to find Rasmus. He can’t help but notice Valentino, who seems very fascinated by Eva. He gives him a slight nod, just to let him know he doesn’t want to stand in the way of his mentor and friend.

Katrina points out that Don is definitely no longer worthy of her attention as he walks past her. He hopes this guy can offer her what she is looking for.

Matt has finally got Clara’s full attention, and it seems that Clara has indulged in some naughty dancing with Matt. Wonder what it could lead to?

Honestly, it probably won’t lead to much since Clara’s husband Bjorn is present in the same room.
Don finds Rasmus in the crowd among the dancers and Rasmus is showing Don some pictures on his phone.

Don is barely able to hear a spoken word over the noise, but regardless he seems to find Rasmus’s pictures uncontrollably amusing.
Let’s guess that it’s not pictures of the twins that Rasmus is showing on this occasion.

Whether Eva and Valentino are able to have a conversation remains to be seen, they have finally moved to a seat next to each other.
“Hey handsome, you look like a man with a lot of experience. Do you have any special talents you would like to tell me about?”

It’s been a few days since any woman has called Valentino handsome, but he has absolutely no objection.
“You are a real sweetheart, aren’t you? … Do I have any talents? … Let me see…. Vel, I can fly an airplane and I’m a trained yoga instructor. I can still do handstands and splits. But, what about you? I guess you’re not lacking in talent yourself.”
Eva looks at him with a doe-like gaze and seems to swallow it all with rapture.

“Oh, I’d rather hear more about you… Soo you do splits? That’s impressive.…I’ve always found yoga really fascinating. I mean, how do you do all these controlled poses? Do you think that’s something you can teach me?” she says with a shy expression.
Valentino looks at her intently…. “Well, yeah, I think I can teach you some basic poses.”

Jade and Marcus leave The Narwhal Arm together. Perhaps it’s not strange since they are very newlyweds.
Neither Eva nor Valentino makes any attempt to leave their seats, so we must assume that their conversation is proceeding without any problems.

Rasmus and Don say goodbye to each other in a quiet corner of the dance floor. They won’t see each other again for a long time, until after Don’s jungle adventure.
“I’d really love to travel with you Don, but maybe sometime in the future when the kids are older.”
“Sure, if I survive,” Don mutters.

Rasmus nods briefly to Katrina as he passes her. She looks relaxed and happy, as she gives him a friendly smile.

He quickly sets the direction towards Brindleton Bay. He can expect to take the night watch with Sif and Sune, since Izumi has been alone with them all afternoon and evening. Not that he minded.
*****

Inside The Narwhal Arm, Valentino and Eva’s communication seems to be reaching a new level. We can only guess what secrets they share.

Katrina is engrossed in a conversation with Sam, her new boyfriend. He seems to have no trouble holding her attention, and she barely notices Don walking behind them toward the exit.

Don leaves his farewell party alone. He may have burned some old bridges tonight, but he’s certain that none of those bridges were meant to lead him over the abyss.
In truth, the abyss doesn’t seem quite that scary anymore, if only he can avoid stepping off the path he’s walking on. Where the path will lead him, he has no idea.

Midnight in Brindleton Bay

Martin has been around the house looking for Tusnelda, but she is nowhere to be found. He wonders what she has come up with now.

That is the true essence of his life with Tusnelda. She is constantly preoccupied with her own projects and forgets everything and everyone around her.
He gets up from his chair. He might as well go to bed.

He will try to get some sleep before he leaves tomorrow, although it is really not easy for him to stay focused while he is in a storm of emotions.

They have been through stormy weather before, but damn… he’s starting to feel exhausted. This boiling pot of worry, anger, love and grief mixed with his instinct to fight and survive, is pulling at him from all sides.
It is exhausting.

He turns towards the sound when he hears a door open.

He feels an immediate relief that she is back…
She heads straight for the empty space next to him on the edge of the bed.

“Really Tusnelda? Did you have to stay away so long when you know I’m leaving tomorrow?” he says irritated.

“I’m sorry Martin, but I was abducted by aliens.”
That’s a sentence that probably wouldn’t make sense in any other universe than this one.

From the living room there is a huge commotion and loud screams.

As the dust settles, Trix is seen curled up on the floor after a brutal beating. Fiona stands there staring at him.
Discord arises even between partners and best friends.

“Okay Sweetie, let’s not part with an argument. I hear you and neither you nor I can do anything about what fate has in store for us.”

“I’m sorry Martin that I’m causing such a turmoil in your life.”
“Don’t be sorry, Sweetie. You’re the one who makes me feel alive…. but damn it’s exhausting sometimes.”

“Let me tell you a secret… you really can make me feel very much alive too,” she whispers.
“Well, in that regard, maybe I’m not quite dead yet.”

It’s well past midnight and Martin has a day of travel ahead of him tomorrow. It’s high time they go to bed.

They are both tired from the last 24 hours, but as Martin said, he is not completely dead yet. Neither is Tusnelda.
Besides, we can’t end a chapter without pink sparkles. It might be a while before we see them again. At least in this bed.

Afterwards they snuggle up in bed. Martin looks at Tusnelda as she falls asleep.
She looks so relaxed and calm. He really hopes she will be okay while he is gone.

A little later, they are both sleeping in each other’s arms.
*****

NB: If any readers are concerned about Trix, it should be said: No cats or other pets were harmed during the photo shoot.
Trix is absolutely fine 😽

After Midnight in Oasis Springs – A short appendix

Don is already asleep when Valentino invites Eva home with him to teach her some poses.
Valentino has a yoga mat and if you want to learn yoga, that’s a good place to start.

However, they quickly agree that some poses are best performed on sheets. I will avoid showing any details here as it will likely offend Imgur’s censorship.

If Eva feared a boring evening, she was terribly wrong. It turns out that Valentino has several talents he forgot to mention.

It’s been a really long time since anyone called her a cutie pie. It seems old-fashioned, but she has absolutely no objection.

It has certainly been a nice meeting, but there is no need to delve too deeply into it. Tomorrow they will all be moving on.
*****
Author’s note: With the end of this chapter, I hope I have left Tusnalda and Martin in a better place than when it started. They will now continue their development separately to hopefully be able to meet again, stronger than when they separated.
Don has finally ended his past lifestyle without knowing where he is going next. The world is open at his feet.
For Elijah and Fatima, it is also time to move on. We will meet them all again on their journey.
This song is for Tusnelda and Martin. Enjoy ❤️

Gosh! I never saw this coming! I’m glad for Fatima and Elijah’s upcoming move! I hope that Tusnelda discovers that she can get some space for herself even while living with Martin, but I guess we’ll see!

Thanks for your comment ❤️
Yes, what can I say 😧

Aw, I understand why Tusnelda wants to take a break. What she’s going through must be so emotionally draining, and sometimes taking a step back really is the best thing, especially with all the emotions she’s dealing with right now. But I feel for Martin too. Poor guy just wants to make her happy. 🙁 I can understand why he feels angry as well. From his perspective, it must feel like this came completely out of nowhere. I’m glad they were able to reconnect though. Sometimes communicating in ways other than words can help. And I’m glad Martin was eventually able to accept her decision to have some space, even if he struggled to understand it at first. Big changes like taking a break can take time to process, so I imagine it’ll take him a while to adjust. But , the inconsistency from Tusnelda is giving me whiplash too, so I don’t blame Martin for being confused. 😂 It seems like Tusnelda isn’t fully sure what she wants either. Maybe this break really will be good for her, so she can take the time to figure things out properly.
OMG, she’s been abducted?? Maybe she’ll finally get the baby she’s always wanted after all.
Aw, poor Fatima not getting her morning coffee. Those ghosts are so annoying! Ooh, they’re getting a new home. That’s probably the best solution to the ghost problem.
Lol! Ambrosius is hilarious. That cat has so much attitude!
Oooh, well done Ambrosius for leading them to the houses for sale. And I hope they love their new house.
Glad the Powerhouses had a good time. And it was nice seeing Rasmus and Elijah catching up again too.
And am I spotting a change in Don? He doesn’t seem to be chasing women the way he used to. Even if Katrina doesn’t believe it. 😂
MonaSolstraale
Thank you for your thorough comment 🥰
I would never say that Tusnelda and Martin have a dysfunctional relationship, because they absolutely do not. However, they may both be so focused on taking into account their spouse and their feelings that it can become a constraint on their own development. This is primarily due to the love they have for each other.
I am glad that you can follow my intention because my thought is that this breakup will help give them a necessary clarification of what is on their own half. You can only take responsibility for what belongs to you. It is really not an easy process for either of them. Tusnelda’s internal conflicts affect them both and it is exhausting for their relationship, so in the long run it will be a wise investment.
An Alien offspring will certainly mess up Tusnelda’s brain even more 🤪Fortunately, it is not a risk since Alien’s way of reproducing is with a male surrogate
Fatima and Elijah have some home showings ahead of them. Elijah has somehow gotten a connection to Brindleton Bay via Rasmus, so who knows where they’ll end up?
Don has stopped chasing women altogether. Especially because it makes him so uncomfortable due to paralysis and anxiety. Of course Katrina doesn’t believe him 😂
For Don, there is no way but to start over somewhere where his rumor hasn’t spread before him. Luckily, he has a jungle expedition in a faraway land ahead of him.

Hey there, I just found your blog! I took your advice on your main page about starting anywhere, and started with your latest post lol. I’m excited to go back and read Martin and Tusnelda’s story. I find myself relating to her frustrated thoughts. And of course KITTIES make any story better!
